Tough filters Titanium adds rigidity to laptops and camera gear, even though it is used in thinner sheets than comparable aluminum or other material. It's even useful in multicoating filters, claims longtime filter maker Tiffen. The company's new Digital HT filters — which offer Hi-Trans double-sided titanium multicoating — are said to have improved scratch-resistant durability over standard lens coatings.
