Alcatel to Lay Fiber-Optic Communication Cables in Alaska

French telecom equipment maker Alcatel has won a contract to lay an undersea fiber-optic broadband network in Alaska. The Kodiak Kenai Fiber Link (KKFL) will be the first fiber-optic link between Anchorage, Alaska, and Seward, and will serve numerous communities on Kenai Peninsula and Kodiak Island.
