Kramer Introduces Five New Optical DVI Cables

Kramer Electronics has introduced five optical DVI cables, models CFODM/ FODM-33, C-FODM/FODM-66, CFODM/ FODM-98, C-FODM/FODM-164, and the C-FODM/FODM-328, capable of sending DVI signals from 33ft. up to 328ft. without the need for repeaters. XGA resolution DVI signals typically can travel about 25ft. to 30ft. over copper-based cables before the signal is lost. Kramer’s new fiber-optic cables have converters built-in to each DVI-D connector on the cable. These converters turn the signals into fiber-optic light pulses so that the signals can travel much greater distances. Kramer’s new fiber-optic DVI-D cables come in five pre-cut lengths.
